Gerudo Glass Dagger by DanoGambler Gerudo Glass Dagger by DanoGambler

This one was an interesting experiment and a welcome shange in all metal-coating. The intended effect failed thought so the price will be lower that it would be otherwize.

This dagger, which is supposed to be a glass dagger, has inscriptions undermieth the trasnsparant layer of blood-red. The letters is in the Gerudo alphabet (Legend of Zelds) and sais on one side "The best heart is an open one" and on the other side: "No hessitation." The gerudo are a female tribe of fiery-spirited thieves, living in the Gerudo desert. This dagger is not based on any existing object, but is a fan-piece of mine. I thought that I would like to make a glass dagger and just happened to have the Gerudo in mind.
The glass coating is the first of its kind. I have many thought of how to enhance the effect and make it better looking.

The handle is made of birchwood, covered with matt black lacker, worn too look well used. The core only goes out in about half of the blade, so it is "stab-safe".

All my weapons are handmade in every detail, with as genuine material as possible, wood, real leather etc... They're all tested to withstand all kind of beating that can occur, during larp, cosplay etc...
The core is a 8mm in diameter fibreglass rod. The body, heads and blades of the weapons are all made of a cellplast material, much like the same material used in campingmadrasses, just tougher and more flexible. The surface is made of about 10 to 12 layers of latex. (5 regular, 3 mixed with black acryllic and about 2 too 4 layers of differentially coloured latex.) The handles are often made of wood, due to the wobbly effect you might have with a normal foamplast handle. The wood makes it both safer to use and easier to controll. There are exeptions though.

If wished, I can take orders. Give me a holler and a description or picture (or both) by note. From there, we can discuss the matter and perhaps come up with something awesome! I'm working like this: First I sketch up a set of weapons that I will make (Up to 15 weapons) and then start building from there. When my set of 15 is planned and done, I will continue making order, but you'll have to wait untill the current generation of weapons are made before having yours created. Why I'm doing that is because that is the number of weapons I can cover with latex before the brush is destroyed. Latex can't be washed of and every layer of latex destroyes one brush. I've tried many solutions but noone works good enough without lowering the quality of the latex layer.

These weapons has been laying for a looooong time, without beeing latexed, with makes the surface of the cellplast a bit rugged. Therefor, some of the weapons may have a bit of a rugged latexcoat. With that in mind I have lowered the price of this weapon.

Please understand that when doing all this by hand, it takes much time and effort. The materials are also of as good quality as I can afford to make them as durable as possible. Thereby the prices.

I'm taking payment throught paypal.

I think I haven't said that yet. I don't like it's curve, it's not fluent. The bluglass has overally much better shape. That was the thing I was "meh" about this dagger ^^

Yea, this one sort of came out as it liked. It decided for itself, but I'm still quite happy with how it turned ut. The uneven shape sort of gives it a sinister and tooth-like appearance, in my oppinion :3

To be completely honest I would like to have one in blue. If it could be done.

Absolutely. I can put it in the list of upcoming weapons. Just keep in mind that these weapons i have here - as mentioned in the descrption - were a bit old and ragged before getting their latex-coat. And also the inscrtions were smudhed out a bit in the process. I know what to do to prevent it further. What I want to say is that it a fully sucsessful dagger will cost more than 15$ in the end.
We can talk further on note. Tell me if you have any special idéas of the desing and then I can probably give you a price.
I'm glad you liked it!

Cool. The only thing I can think of is that I would want a different inscription. How much do you think it will cost?
